Waxing Gibbous Moon – A Detailed View Before Full Moon
Captured just before midnight with the Dwarf Lab Mini, this detailed image of Earth's Waxing Gibbous Moon was created by stacking 322 exposures to reveal exceptional lunar detail. Vast dark plains known as lunar maria, rugged mountain ranges, and countless impact craters stretch across the Moon's surface, while brilliant crater rays radiate outward from some of its youngest impacts. As the Moon approaches its Full Moon phase, sunlight illuminates nearly the entire Earth-facing hemisphere, providing an outstanding view of the Moon's ancient volcanic basins and heavily cratered highlands. Our nearest celestial neighbor continues to offer a fascinating record of billions of years of Solar System history.
