The Ring of Fire – Annular Solar Eclipse at Maximum Eclipse Over San Antonio, Texas

A spectacular view of the Ring of Fire during the annular solar eclipse of October 14, 2023, photographed from northeastern San Antonio, Texas. At the height of the eclipse, the Moon passes directly in front of the Sun, leaving a brilliant, nearly complete ring of orange sunlight surrounding its dark silhouette. The uneven thickness of the glowing ring reveals the remarkable alignment of these two celestial bodies. Photographed through a Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope at 1700mm using a Nikon D850 and solar filter, this extraordinary image preserves one of the most breathtaking astronomical events visible from Texas in 2023.
